While there are many body fluids useful in diagnostics, >99% of the time blood is the modern choice. The circulatory system is where we can best "listen to the chemistry talk" by examining the composition of a blood sample. Clinical chemistry has seen a rapid decrease in the amount of blood needed for an individual test; the volumes required have in many cases been reduced by over a million-fold over the last 4 decades. If so little blood is needed, then why are we drawing such large volumes of blood from the patient when only minute amounts of blood are being used in a blood test? Blood sampling technology has not kept up with the new clinical chemistry measurement tools. Now is the right time for an updated way to draw just the right amount of blood needed.
The Phlebot is a revolutionary device that device that painlessly draws blood in precise volumes at precisely controlled times with negligible blood waste allowing a physician to efficiently “listen to the chemistry talk.” The brief videos explain the underlying technology.
